WINNECONNE, Wis. (WFRV) – Three people were arrested Tuesday afternoon after Winnebago County officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in front of a local daycare.
According to the Winneconne Police Department, an officer pulled the vehicle over shortly before 2 p.m. near West Main Street. The occupants included a 66-year-old man, a 57-year-old woman, and a 49-year-old woman, all from Oshkosh. During the stop, concerns were raised when the group admitted to recent drug use, and one person was found to be on active probation.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office responded with a K9 unit that reportedly found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Investigators say the 49-year-old woman provided false identification, had three active warrants, and was on probation. She admitted the group had recently left a drug house in Oshkosh and was traveling to obtain money from a resident at a local assisted living facility to buy more drugs.
The woman was taken to the Winnebago County Jail, where she again confirmed the group had smoked crack earlier in the day and ran out of their supply.
Charges are being referred to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office, including possession of cocaine (second offense or higher), possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting or obstructing an officer, and bail jumping. She was also booked on her three warrants and a probation hold.
“We are actively working to ensure the safety and well-being of the assisted living residents involved and the entire community and will continue to investigate any further connections,” said Winneconne Police Chief Ben Sauriol. “Protecting our most vulnerable community members is a top priority.”
