GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – As the rise in artificial intelligence (AI) in many forms of media continues, a local theatre is pushing back by banning it from its venues.
The Tarlton Theatre in Green Bay announced in a press release that it is banning the use of any AI-generated creative content/work at its venues.

“Artists and musicians at all levels are facing plagiarism and appropriation of their creative works by artificial intelligence-based algorithms, models, systems, platforms and other technologies without their permission.” – The Tarlton Theatre
The Tarlton Theatre’s release argued that AI poses a threat to creative job opportunities and the creative identity of the community as a whole, and that it is ‘committed to supporting and showcasing live and original talent.

With the ban, all programming must be completely human-made.
The release added that The Tarlton Theatre and its representatives hope to see local creative leaders consider the threat of AI to the original content creators throughout Green Bay.
