GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A cheese manufacturing plant in the Green Bay area announced that it will shut down operations in December 2025, resulting in 240 layoffs.
According to a letter to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD), Saputo Cheese USA Inc. announced the intended closure back in February 2023, stating that the plant in Green Bay would close by the end of December 2024.

All employees had been informed at the time about retention and potential for severance pay; however, Saputo Cheese USA Inc. confirmed that the plant will shutter operations in December 2025.
The reported closure will result in the layoff of 240 employees starting on November 1, 2025. All affected employees were notified with the notification posted at the plant itself.
