GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Storylines kept adding for the start of the Green Bay Packers’ 2025 season, and it got underway with the crew from NFL Today bringing their show on the road, doing it on the doorsteps of Lambeau Field.
“First game of the season, NFC North matchup, there are so many variables to what can happen in this game, you look at what happened with the Lions last year, now getting healthy, getting their stars back, losing both coordinators, and then on the otherside, the storylines they keep gifiting us gifts, Packers they sign Micah Parsons, this is the best backdrop in all of football,” says CBS Sports Analyst Nate Burleson.

For NFL Hall of Fame Head Coach and fellow CBS Sports Analyst Bill Cowher, Lambeau Field has some fond memories, including his first as an NFL head coach in 1992.
“Mike Holmgren was the coach in his first year, and he decided to change qbs in the fourth week, he benched Dan Majkowski, and we were 3-0, we come up there, and this second year, first start for the Packers beat us, Brett Favre, it was his first win as a Packer, and my first loss as a Steeler.”
Fans arrived around 8:30 a.m. to have a chance to be on TV, and there was a buzz in the air from some of the fans.
