KEWAUNEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Kewaunee are looking into an incident that they described as ‘possibly harmless’, where kids were asked to pet a chicken.
The Kewaunee Police Department posted on its Facebook page about a ‘strange call’ that reportedly happened on September 7 around 2:30 p.m.
Police say a father dropped his kids off to play basketball at a school. Not long later, the kids reportedly called to get picked up.

While the kids were there, they were allegedly approached by two teenage girls who asked if ‘they wanted to pet their chicken.’
The release says there was an older gentleman by a minivan with the back hatch open and a chicken in a cage. It was mentioned that the father of the children also saw the minivan and chicken.
The man was described as 6’02” with shaggy brown hair and a beard. Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Chief Smidle.
