(WFRV) – After crossing into Illinois from Wisconsin, a 30-year-old man was arrested after a K9 unit found him hiding under some bushes.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, on September 8, around 1:10 a.m., authorities in Wisconsin requested assistance with a vehicle that crossed into Illinois. The driver, identified as a 30-year-old man from Racine, had allegedly fled after a domestic-related dispute with a victim.
It was mentioned that the victim may have been held against her will.
Authorities in Illinois found the man’s vehicle and tried to pull him over. The man fled at a high rate of speed and was going over 100 mph, the release said.

After working with OnStar, authorities had the vehicle slowed.
The man eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. A woman was rescued from the passenger seat. She was uninjured.
A K9 unit tracked the man and found him hiding in a wooded area under some bushes. He was taken into custody.
Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg said he was very proud of everyone involved in the incident.

The man was held in jail and could face multiple charges.
