MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2126 kicked off its annual food drive on Thursday morning, along with a brat fry.
The two-day food drive ran from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. at 546 3rd Street in Menasha on Thursday, with the same hours and location on Friday, as the Post supports local food pantries.

“When I was in Vietnam, it’s a whole different story than anywhere you go,” VFW Post 2126 Commander David Mix said. “It was rough over there and I was a cook over there. I learned that food is a big thing.”
In addition to the food drive, VFW Post 2126 also hosted a brat fry on both Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., inviting the community to eat while also giving back to those who need it the most.
All proceeds and food go back to the community and local food pantries.
