WAUSAU, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wausau are investigating after one person was left in critical condition Sunday evening following a shooting on the city’s west side, authorities say.
According to a release from the Wausau Police Department, officers responded around 5:40 p.m. to a home on the 400 block of Lazy Creek Way for reports of a possible shooting.

Upon arrival, police found a 31-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was taken to a local medical facility, where he remains in critical condition.
As of now, officers say there is no ongoing threat to the public and the Wausau Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
