(WFRV) – Nearly a week after an Amber Alert was issued for a 6-year-old girl in Wisconsin, her own mother has been arrested and charged.
According to the Portage County District Attorney’s Office, Chelsie Lehmann was officially charged with aiding/harboring a felon. Lehmann is reportedly the mother of Ruby Lehmann, a 6-year-old who previously had an Amber Alert issued.
Ruby was found safe on September 13.

Officials say Chelsie and her children recently started living in a home owned and occupied by Jordan Coyle. Coyle was previously convicted of a felony child sex offense and is a registered sex offender, the release said.
Coyle has conditions that prevent him from residing with children. When the Department of Corrections found out that children were living at the house, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On September 9, Coyle allegedly fled when police went to his residence. This is when Chelsie is accused of having aided Coyle.
The release says Chelsie encouraged/permitted Coyle to violate the terms of his supervision by having contact with Ruby.
The investigation reportedly shows that Ruby had a close relationship with Coyle and left her home looking for him. It was mentioned that there is no indication Ruby was forcefully taken by Coyle.
Ruby was found unhurt.
