(WFRV) – Workers in Milwaukee, Washington, and Waukesha counties who lost income because of the severe flooding in August can now apply for federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA).
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced that the program is available to people who became unemployed or unable to work between August 9 through 12, 2025, when storms, flooding, and mudslides hit the area.

DUA is for workers and self-employed individuals who don’t quality for regular unemployment insurance. Eligible applicants include those who lost their jobs, were injured, could not reach their workplace, or lost income due to disaster-related closures.
The deadline to apply is November 10, 2025. Applications can be filed at my.unemployment.wisconsin.gov, or by calling the DUA hotline at 608-318-7100 for help.
