GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – University of Wisconsin-Green Bay students gathered at Phoenix Park on Thursday night for a vigil to honor Charlie Kirk.
The vigil came just over a week after the conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder was shot and killed while speaking at an event on the campus of Utah Valley University.

The vigil also came just over two days before a larger memorial service is held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday, September 21.
The late Kirk’s rise to prominence started as a teen from the northwest Chicagoland area suburb of Arlington Heights. Kirk frequented campuses nationwide to hold debates with students, promoting conservatism on campus through Turning Point USA.
