The Latest from Storm Team 5…
Rain showers from overnight have moved out of the area, so we are starting off our morning cloudy and dry. However, as we roll into the afternoon, a few showers and isolated rumbles of thunder are possible, but this will not be as widespread of a case as it was yesterday afternoon and evening. Forecast highs will manage the upper 60s and low to mid 70s.
Tonight, mostly cloudy skies and some patches of fog. There is a chance for a spotty shower, especially later in the night. Lows in the upper 50s and low 60s.
Tomorrow is the first day of Fall, with the autumnal equinox at 1:19 p.m., we will start our day with cloudy skies and a few spotty showers. Into the afternoon, skies will open up, and with a cold front moving through, that will amp up the instability and fuel scattered showers and storms.
Widespread severe risk is quite low, but a storm or two might pack a punch, bringing mainly gusty wind, downpour, and a small hail threat. Forecast highs will once again reach the low to mid-70s.
Overnight on Monday, the rain will slowly come to an end. Lows will fall into the mid and upper 50s.
Tuesday appears dry with mostly cloudy skies, and temperatures will cool down to seasonal norms in the wake of the cold front. Highs will range from the mid-60s to the lower 70s. An extended period of dry weather will take shape for the rest of our week, with highs in the low to mid 70s, possibly reaching the upper 70s again later in the week.
