GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Community members united as one at the CityDeck on Saturday morning for the annual Green Bay Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising money and awareness in the fight against the disease.
The opening ceremony kicked off at 9:30 a.m., with Local 5’s Kaitlin Corbett as one of the emcees for the event, as the walk began about 30 minutes later.
Hundreds of participants came together to enjoy a sunny Saturday morning while getting in their steps for a good cause. Live DJ entertainment was waiting for people as they returned from their walk, along with some family-friendly activities.
In addition to the fun festivities, representatives handed out and provided resources for those with loved ones fighting Alzheimer’s and for the caregivers who work tirelessly to help Alzheimer’s patients.
According to a release following the event, the Alzheimer’s Association Wisconsin Chapter announced that the 2025 event is expected to raise over $260,000, with over 1,000 participants donating.
The funds from the event will directly go towards Brown County area families in education, care and support services, along with advocacy efforts to raise awareness.

According to the release, over seven million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s right now, and over 110,000 in Wisconsin. Brown County data says that there are over 5,400 people 65 and older with dementia.
