GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Award-winning veteran journalist Stacy Engebretson has officially joined the WFRV Local 5 News team and is set to debut alongside Tom Zalaski on the anchor desk.
Stacy Engebretson, who has over 25 years of journalism experience, will co-anchor the evening news with Tom Zalaski for the 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. newscasts. Engebretson has been a journalist in the Green Bay area for more than 20 years.
Twenty-three years of Engebretson’s career have been spent in the Green Bay area, and with joining WFRV, Engebretson will continue to tell important stories to a dedicated community.

“Stacy Engebretson has established her career and raised a family in the Fox River Valley. We are very proud to bring her into the WFRV Local 5 family,” said Judson Beck, WFRV Vice President & General Manager.
Engebretson will also host a half-hour unique program on WFRV+. WFRV+ is a 24-hour streaming service that provides WFRV programming along with exclusive programs, live breaking news, in-depth coverage and browsable archives.

Engebretson began her career in Alexandria, Minnesota, moving to Wausau a year later. Engebretson worked at the NBC affiliate in Green Bay, first as an anchor/reporter, then adding the Assistant News Director role to her duties. Since June 2022, she has been the Assistant News Director at the ABC affiliate in Green Bay.
In her more than two decades serving the Green Bay area, Engebretson has volunteered with more than a dozen organizations. She is committed to continuing her volunteer work as well as emceeing events.
Engebretson is an award-winning journalist contributing to Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy awards, Regional Edward R. Murrow awards as well as Wisconsin Broadcasters Association honors.
Engebretson will make her debut alongside veteran anchor Tom Zalaski on Monday, October 13. Tom and Stacy will co-anchor Local 5 News at 5:00 p.m.
