The pickups were coordinated through assistance from Green Bay Packaging Inc., which partners with the Packers for the annual program, which saw 350 trees donated.

Meacham Nursery and Leaves Inspired provided the trees, while the Department of Natural Resources and Wisconsin Public Service helped with the program.

Wisconsin Public Service Spokesman Matt Cullen said these trees came from the number of first downs the Packers accrued during the previous season, and they will help improve the forestry and combat emissions.

“They’re able to receive and plant these trees in their communities to help improve urban forestry and offset carbon emissions the Packers have while traveling to away games,” Cullen said. “In that time, the Packers have seen over 7,500 trees planted in communities around Brown County.”

The Milwaukee Brewers have a similar program called ‘Root, Root, Root for the Brewers.’ More information on both programs is available on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources website.
