Appleton, Green Bay named top 100 places to live in the US in 2025

(WFRV) – Ahead of the NFL Draft, Green Bay is receiving more good news as it, and the City of Appleton, have been named a top 100 place to live in the US in 2025, according to Livability.com.

Livability has been curating its annual list of the “Best Places To Live in the US” for over a decade by analyzing nearly 100 data points across eight key categories.

“We’re just happy to be able to do it”: NEW Community Shelter brings community together for Easter Sunday

The crafted list only features cities with a population between 75,000 and 500,000 and median home values under $500,000.

Green Bay, with a Quality of Life LivScore of 648, was selected as one of the top places to live in the US in 2025 because of the City’s “strong community bonds and providing residents with an exceptionally high quality of life.”

Livability came to this conclusion by specifically naming the riverfront boardwalk along the Fox River.

The year-round available recreation activities and the unique relationship with the Green Bay Packers also played a factor, as did the City’s housing prices, which are reported to be nearly 20% below the national average.

Appleton, with a Quality of Life LivScore of 704, was selected as one of the top places to live in the US in 2025, largely because the City is considered the “cultural hub of the Fox Cities.”

Livability says Appleton has an abundance of entertainment and activities to do, citing specifically events like Octoberfest and the Mile of Music Festival.

Other factors that contributed to Appleton being selected include the wide variety of restaurants and breweries to go along with a cost of living that is lower than the national average and a median home value of $220,13.
