OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – The driver of a utility van was pronounced dead in Oshkosh Saturday night after the van was found upside down and partially submerged in a flooded ditch.
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 45, north of County Trunk Y in Oshkosh, around 9:15 p.m. on May 10.
When deputies arrived, they found a utility van on its roof, partially submerged in water within a ditch. The driver was removed from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies stated that based on an initial investigation, the van was going northbound on 45 at a ‘high rate-of-speed’ before going into the ditch and rolling.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Town of Oshkosh Fire Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Winnebago County Medical Examiner’s Office.
