The Latest from Storm Team 5…
What a beautiful day it was to wrap up an incredible three days which was the NFL Draft with full sunshine and temperatures in the 50s to low 60s. For tonight, we start clear, with clouds arriving late, lows fall into the middle 30s.
Tomorrow, plan on mostly cloudy skies, with temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s, cooler lakeside in the low 50s. A southeast wind will pick up between 10-20mph. Most should stay dry, but there is a chance for a spotty passing light shower.
Monday is a day we need to all be actively monitoring very closely as two rounds of strong to severe storms are looking likely. The first will occur late morning into the afternoon and these storms should stay non severe, but could be on the stronger side.
The second round will move in late evening and overnight, and this is the round that will likely be the most impactful of the two. All types of severe weather are likely, including damaging winds, heavy rain, large hail over 1″ in diameter and a few spin up tornadoes. We will have all the necessary ingredients: high temperatures into the upper 60s and low 70s, dew points into the 60s, and plenty of storm energy.
We will likely see cloudy skies, breezy conditions and a few morning showers on Tuesday, before skies clear out during the afternoon. Highs occur in the morning, with falling temperatures throughout the day.
