‘Community Spirit’: Appleton PD and FD hit the ice for charity

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – It was a night of community spirit on Saturday in Appleton as the City’s Police Department and Fire Department hit the ice for a charity hockey game.

Fans got to cheer on local heroes in a friendly showdown between ‘Team Fire’ and ‘Team Police’ all while supporting the Lundgaard Love Foundation and Vaspire 316.

It was more than just a hockey game on Saturday night, it was a chance for the community to come together and make a difference.

“Its awesome to see the community members and members of law enforcement and fire department come out and support one another and just put on a good show while coming together to support good causes,” said Dylan Davis, Grand Chute Police Department Corporal.

In the end, the Appleton Fire Department’s Lundgaard Love Foundation came out on top, winning 14-10.

The event was held at the Community First Championship Center.
