MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Just after midnight on Friday, crews worked to put out a fire at a Manitowoc home that started with a dehumidifier in the basement.
According to the Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department, crews were sent to the 4400 block of Knuell Court around 12:20 a.m. on April 18 for reports of smoke and flames coming from a home.

Within minutes, crews arrived and reportedly found a dehumidifier on fire in the home’s basement.
After a search of the residence, all occupants were accounted for, and the fire was put out.
No injuries were reported, and the fire is currently under investigation, although authorities say it appears to have been caused by the dehumidifier.
