The fire was reported at a two-story, wooden frame multiunit townhouse complex, and fire crews arrived quickly; however, no smoke or fire was seen from the building. Fortunately, residents had self-evacuated.

Crews inside confirmed the fire had been contained in the oven, with smoke filling the unit. The fire had already been out before crews arrived. The cause of the fire was deemed to be due to burnable materials being stored in the oven.

No injuries or damages were reported, and the De Pere Fire Rescue reminded residents to never use the oven to store any types of material.
