Dozens of firefighters battle house fire for more than two hours in Wisconsin

TOMAH, Wis. (WFRV) – Twenty-five firefighters battled a house fire for nearly two and a half hours Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Tomah Fire Department, crews responded around 2 p.m. to a home in the 1200 block of Stoughton Avenue after reports of a porch fire. While en route, authorities were informed the porch was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire spreading from the street side into the two-story home.

Crews quickly knocked down the main fire while protecting nearby structures, but suppression efforts took several hours.

Wisconsin authorities identify woman found dead in Lake Michigan break wall

All occupants escaped without injury. A dog was rescued and taken to a veterinary facility for evaluation, but a cat inside the home did not survive.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
