GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The team at EPIC Event Center in Green Bay is mourning the loss of two key figures in the music world, Dave Shapiro and Daniel Williams, following a tragic plane crash in San Diego.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, EPIC shared their condolences, writing:
Dave’s influence on the music industry was far-reaching… His dedication and passion helped shape so many of the unforgettable nights we’ve shared at EPIC.
Dave Shapiro, a respected music executive and co-founder of Sound Talent Group, was known for championing independent artists and booking major names in alternative and hard rock. His work helped bring countless memorable performances to venues like EPIC.

Daniel Williams, also remembered in the tribute, was praised for his talent, energy, and deep commitment to the community. Both men were credited with helping create the kinds of live music experiences that have defined EPIC’s reputation.
Shapiro was piloting the small plane that crashed, killing him and two others, including Williams. In addition to his role in music, Shapiro was an avid pilot and co-owner of a flight school.
