Erin Hills prepares for first-ever U.S. Women’s Open

HARTFORD, Wis. (WFRV) – For just the third time in the tournament’s 80-year history, the U.S. Women’s Open is coming to Wisconsin. Between May 29-June 1, 156 of the best women’s golfers will arrive at Erin Hills golf course, eying one of the most coveted trophies in all of the sport.

In 1998 and 2012, the event was held in Kohler at Blackwolf Run. But when the end of the month rolls around, Erin Hills will add its courses name to that short list of Wisconsin sites to host a major tournament. In fact, it will become just the 16th venue to host both a men’s and women’s U.S. Open, as the men’s tourney was held there in 2017.

Hear from some of the USGA representatives about the tournament returning to the state of Wisconsin in the video above.
