Evers visits Valders, addresses NFL Draft security funding concerns

VALDERS, Wis. (WFRV) – Governor Tony Evers made a stop in northeast Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon as part of his statewide tour highlighting how his state budget will help ensure clean water for Wisconsin farms and families.

While in Valders, Gov. Evers was also asked about next week’s 2025 NFL Draft, following recent calls from Republican lawmakers for additional security funding.

“We can get that done,” Evers said. “The Joint Finance Committee has money available, and I suggest they go directly to the JFC and say where’s the money.”

Previously, Gov. Evers allocated $1 million in his state budget to support safety efforts for the NFL Draft.
