The Latest From Story Team 5…
Another cooler day today with highs only in the 50s to around 60 and just barely cracking 50 degrees lakeside, but at least it was sunny all day long. This will be the coolest day for long time.
Tonight, with clear skies and a wind easing back, that will promote a chilly night through a process called radiational cooling. Lows will fall all the way into the low to middle 30s. Widespread frost is likely.
The National Weather Service has issued a ‘Frost Advisory’ from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday for much of the WFRV coverage area, as the growing season was deemed active as of yesterday. It is important to bring sensitive plants inside or cover them up.
This does not include Langlade, Menominee county in the U.P., northern Marinette and Oconto counties because the growing season is not deemed active until May 14.
After a chilly start to the morning, a light southwest flow will kick in and bring back those much desired temperatures in the low 70s under full sunshine. Cooler lakeside, only managing the lower 60s.
The southern edge of a cold front will drop in after bed time tomorrow and that could bring in a spotty shower, but most stay dry. This boundary will cool us off a few degrees on Saturday, falling into the upper 60s and low 70s under mostly sunny skies. Once again, cooler by the lake only around 60 degrees.
Great weather for Mothers Day, mostly sunny with temperatures closing in on 80 degrees courtesy of a increasing southwest wind between 10-15mph with higher gusts. A mild weather pattern will continue for much of the week.
