Green Bay Botanical Garden unveils animal sculptures made from trash & debris found in the Pacific Ocean

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Botanical Garden unveiled a unique exhibit to encourage saving our planet’s water: Animal sculptures made of trash and debris from the Pacific Ocean.

The sculptures feature nine large animals:

  • Clementine the Sea Star
  • Edward the Leatherback Sea Turtle
  • Giacometti the River Otter
  • Hugo the Whale Tail
  • Marigold the Water Bottle Jelly
  • Rosa the Bald Eagle
  • Scrappy the Sea Lion Pup
  • Stanley the Sturgeon
  • Sylvia the Silvertip Shark

From legendary papers to legendary plates, Bistro Buchanan is now open in Green Bay

Each is placed throughout the garden, with guests able to see and interact with. The sculptures feature educational facts about the animal, specifically details on how plastics in their environment impact their wellbeing and habitat.

In addition to those facts, the educational signs include actions people may take daily to stop plastics and trash from washing up in the ocean.
