Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich said in a release how grateful he was for the several groups of people responsible for making the 2025 NFL Draft a great and successful event, including local residents and the Packers themselves.

With the 2025 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, I feel immense gratitude for so many people, beginning with Green Bay residents, our public safety teams, city employees of all kinds, our business improvement districts and their incredible staff, the Village of Ashwaubenon, Brown County, and, of course, the Packers, the local organizing committee, Discover Green Bay, and the NFL for making the 2025 Draft something special for everyone.

Mayor Genrich also specifically mentioned Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy, who, despite all the naysayers, helped bring his vision of bringing the NFL Draft to Titletown to life.

He added that while there were plenty of skeptics, “the little city that could” ignored all of the noise and “proved Mark right” by showing the world what Green Bay was capable of.

Green Bay Metro Transit:
  • Nearly 20,000 total bus trips provided – a 250% increase from normal ridership

Mayor Genrich also said that many area restaurants and organizations provided over 2,000 meals to the first responders working the draft, providing an example of the ethic he says was at the core of what made the three day event special as well as what will help allow the city “to continue to grow, innovate, and succeed in the years ahead.”

I am incredibly proud of our citizens and grateful to them. At every opportunity, they open their arms wide to visitors and fans of all kinds and demonstrate a true spirit of northern hospitality that is palpable, contagious, and inspiring.

What’s next is yet to be determined, but this much we know: This community owns the Green Bay Packers, and this community owns our future, too. It is yet to be made, but it is brighter than we can even imagine.
