(WFRV) – Since 1939, officials in Wisconsin say they have been providing assistance when needed to drivers out on the roadways all throughout the state.
In a social post made on what is the first day of May, troopers with the Wisconsin State Patrol say that if a driver finds themselves in trouble or having a ‘May-Day (mayday),’ then they will be there to help.

Until troopers arrive, there are a few things officials suggest drivers do in case problems arise while out on the roadways, including the following:
- Pull off the highway if possible.
- Call 911 and be ready to describe your location.
- Stay buckled up in your vehicle and wait for help.
