iPhone crash alert leads responders to fatal rollover in Wisconsin

WINTER, Wis. (WFRV) – A 26-year-old Wisconsin woman is dead following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Wisconsin last Friday.

According to the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was received shortly after 8:30 a.m. from an iPhone Crash Detection alert, indicating the owner had been in a crash and was unresponsive.

First responders arrived at the scene near the 6500W block of County Highway B in the Town of Winter. Initial investigation showed the vehicle was heading east on County Highway B when it left the roadway during a slight left-hand curve.

The vehicle entered a ditch, struck a driveway, became airborne, overturned several times, and hit multiple trees before coming to a stop.

The driver and sole occupant, identified as Anjeni Del Real of Lac Du Flambeau, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
