According to a release, Lakeshore College Foundation raised $3 million for the facility which includes $1 million from Froedtert Health and Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
The demand for well-trained health workers in multiple fields facilitated the need for the building, which features multiple models of instruction.
Kellea Ewen, an associate degree instructor at Lakeshore College emphasized the importance of having high-quality equipment available in training as it greatly helps students prepare for the real world of medicine.
“Having equipment that looks, feels and acts exactly like my students are expected to use in hospitals, clinics and long-term care settings helps them be prepared once they graduate,” Ewen said.

The multi-disciplinary instruction model will rely on collaborative efforts between students in the program as well. Public Safety students will perform emergency training before going to work with Health Science students who engage in advanced care exercises, according to the release.
