The House GOP made a “real misstep” in not moving President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act along late this week, but Trump is coming back to Washington and will right the wrong, according to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
“[Friday] was a real misstep on the Republicans’ part, in the budget side, that four of them looked out for themselves instead of moving the bill along, reconciliation,” McCarthy told Sunday’s “The Cats Roundtable” WABC 770 AM-NY.
Republicans are balking at moving Trump’s tax and spending cuts bill with objections that it does not go far enough, including putting off Medicaid work requirements too far into the future, and not lifting the $10,000 cap on the state and local tax deductions in blue states.
