“Our new museum’s name, the Nature & Culture Museum of Wisconsin, honors the work we’ve been doing for nearly 150 years—sharing the intertwined stories of our natural world and the diverse cultures that shape it,” President and CEO Dr. Ellen Censky said via a release.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson concurred, expressing both excitement over the new name and continued gratitude that the museum continues to attract large numbers, roughly 500,000 visitors to the city annually.

“We’re incredibly fortunate to have Wisconsin’s largest natural history museum and the
state’s most visited museum, located right here in Milwaukee,” Mayor Johnson said via a release. “This new name and brand will only further enhance the Museum’s prominence as a statewide institution, and Milwaukee’s reputation as a premier tourist destination.”
