GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The NFL offseason is cruising along, and after Green Bay shattered expectations during the Draft, it’s time to find out when and who the Packers will play in 2025 with the official schedule release.
After days of leaks, the official 2025 NFL Schedule release was announced at 7 p.m. on May 14, and key matchups are plentiful with an early bye and a divisional gauntlet to close the season.
The Green Bay Packers open the 2025 regular season against divisional rival Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field. The matchup marks the first time the Packers kick off the season at home against Detroit since 2001. The last time they played the Lions in Week 1 was at Ford Field in 2005.
Other key matchups include four primetime games against the Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers (Aaron Rodgers?), and Philadelphia Eagles (Wild Card rematch).
The 2025 slate also sees the Green & Gold going to Detroit for the Lions’ traditional Thanksgiving Day game at noon on November 27.
Following the Week 1 matchup with the Lions, the Packers don’t face another NFC North rival until Week 12, which is at home against Minnesota. From Week 12 and beyond, the schedule is loaded with NFC North matchups with two games against Minnesota, two against Chicago, and the remaining Detroit game.
