Police in Wisconsin urge attentiveness after camera footage shows pedestrian hit by car, traffic light

WAUSAU, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wisconsin are urging people to be more attentive after dash cam footage showed a pedestrian who was hit by a car running a red light.

The Wausau Police Department posted the dashcam footage as well as a security camera angle of the incident, which involved two vehicles.

The video shows a sedan driving in a downtown area, passing through an intersection with a green light, while a pedestrian crosses the street with the walk sign.

The sedan was subsequently hit by a van, which ran a red light, causing the sedan to skid into a person walking. The van proceeded to knock over a traffic light.

The Wausau Police Department’s post added that good luck likely saved the pedestrian, as nobody was seriously injured; however, it served as a reminder that people must pay attention to their surroundings.
