REPORT: Aaron Rodgers receives league-low $80+ in performance-based bonus

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Former Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, reportedly received the lowest performance-based bonus across the entire NFL for the 2023 season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Rodgers earned just $81.14 through the NFL’s performance-based pay system in his first year with the New York Jets.

Schefter says the pay system rewards all NFL players based on what their base salary is and on how many snaps they play throughout the season. Players with a low base salary who play a significant number of snaps are expected to usually earn more through the system.

This past season, Rodgers essentially had the complete opposite. A high salary, mixed with playing just 0.33% of snaps due to a torn Achilles, earned him a total of $81.14 through the system which was allegedly the lowest across the entire NFL.

For comparison, San Francisco’s Brock Purdy nearly matched his base salary, earning $739,795 through the performance-based system.

Rodgers likely hopes to see his own money, and snap count, increase in 2024 for year two with the Jets.
