REPORT: Bucks star point guard Damian Lillard diagnosed with torn Achilles

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – During the first quarter of what was an eventual 129-103 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Bucks were dealt a heavy blow as 9x All-Star point guard Damian Lillard was removed from the game.

As first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania, an MRI confirmed on Monday that Lillard suffered a torn left Achilles tendon, ending his season.

Lillard suffered the injury on a non-contact play while attempting to recover a loose ball in the first quarter.

The Bucks’ point guard had played for six minutes and had yet to score prior at the time of the Achilles injury.

Given the severity of an Achilles injury, this puts into question his availability for next season, which is something more information will likely come out about at a later time.

As for the Milwaukee Bucks, they will now be fighting for their playoff lives as they find themselves down in the series 3-1. The Bucks will face off against the Pacers in a must-win Game 5 on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
