Second tornado confirmed in Shawano County during Monday night storms

BIRNAMWOOD, Wis. (WFRV) – The National Weather Service in Green Bay has confirmed that a second tornado touched down during Monday night’s severe weather outbreak.

A damage survey team determined that an EF-0 tornado touched down around 10 p.m. about three miles east of Birnamwood in Shawano County. The tornado was on the ground for roughly two minutes before lifting at 10:02 p.m.

Winds were estimated to have peaked at 80 miles per hour. Officials described the tornado as a high-end EF-0 based on observed damage, which included a partially damaged outbuilding roof and several uprooted trees.

Local 5 was on the scene Tuesday, where substantial damage was seen on the roof of one of buildings at the Olson Dairy Farm off Butternut Road in Birnamwood.

No injuries or fatalities were reported.
