SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) – The Sheboygan Police Department is celebrating the retirement of K9 Max, who in seven years of service was deployed over 2,700 times, helping to seize over 32,000 grams of narcotics.
A Facebook post from the Department on April 29 celebrating the dedicated and decorated career of K9 Max, who recently retired after seven years, states that Max is ready to take things “at a different pace.”
K9 Max, who is 9 years old, was responsible for over 2,700 deployments that resulted in finding 83 people and more than 32,000 grams of narcotics. Officers say that Max was also often called to help search for missing people, spending countless hours helping Sheboygan area residents.

Now in retirement, K9 Max will be spending his time at the home of his handler and partner of the past seven years, Officer Anna Taylor.
“We are grateful for his drive to succeed, his energy, and his fearlessness. Congrats, Max, on an incredible career, and enjoy your well-deserved retirement!” the Facebook post concluded.
