Son of Packers Hall of Famer and former Super Bowl winner Antonio Freeman scores first MLS goal

ORLANDO, Wis. (WFRV) – Antonio Freeman spent eight of his nine NFL seasons with the Packers, and many recognize him from his improbable overtime touchdown catch in 2000 against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.

But, the Freeman bloodline isn’t done making waves in the sporting world, as Antonio’s 20-year-old son, Alexander (Alex) Freeman, is a defender for Major League Soccer club Orlando City SC.

On March 1, the young fullback made his first MLS start since he signed in 2022. In the 35th minute of the match, he made the Freeman name heard once again.

The 20-year-old Freeman scored his first MLS goal on a breakaway left-footed strike near in the penalty area to give Orlando City SC a 2-0 lead.
