Squad car catches fire after pursuit ends in western Wisconsin

WARREN, Wis. (WFRV) – One person is in custody and all law enforcement officers are safe after a pursuit ended with a squad car catching fire on Wednesday night.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office assisted multiple agencies in the chase. Authorities say the driver was wanted by Wisconsin Probation and Parole.

The pursuit led officers from Warren into Jackson County, where the suspect fled on foot near Millston. About five minutes after officers parked their squad cars to search for the suspect, one of the vehicles burst into flames.

No one was injured, but the squad car was destroyed. No additional details were provided.
