ASHLAND, Wis. (WFRV) – Two men from Wisconsin were arrested on Wednesday after a hotel employee reported that they had found what looked like narcotics inside a room.
The Ashland Police Department reported that officers arrived at the AmericInn hotel regarding the report, as a hotel employee said they discovered a ‘white rock-like substance’ inside, suspecting it to be an illegal narcotic.

The employee reported to officers that the guests would likely return to the room. Officers detained two men, Benny Hurst of Brown Deer and Brandon Harris of Milwaukee. The responding officers obtained a search warrant for the room and a vehicle linked to them.
Officers searched both, recovering about 67.8 grams of suspected meth, 12.4 grams of suspected heroin and six grams of suspected cocaine. More evidence consistent with drugs was recovered as well.

Both have been referred to the Ashland County District Attorney’s Office on multiple charges:
