Two seriously injured after missed stop sign, crash with pickup truck in Outagamie County

CENTER, Wis. (WFRV) – A man and a woman were left with ‘serious injuries’ after allegedly running through a stop sign in Outagamie County and crashing into a pickup truck.

According to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the intersection of CTY TK EE and Wege Road in the Town of Center around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 for reports of a crash.

A preliminary investigation reportedly showed that a vehicle, driven by a 72-year-old woman with a 75-year-old male passenger, both from Freedom, was westbound on Wege Road when she allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign.

After the missed stop sign, the vehicle crashed into a southbound pickup truck, which was hauling a trailer, on CTY TK EE.

Both passengers of the westbound vehicle were taken to a local hospital with what deputies described as ‘serious injuries.’

Two adults and three young kids from Appleton were in the pickup truck at the time of the crash. One of the kids was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, deputies say.

In the release, deputies ruled out alcohol as a factor. No additional details were provided.
