Wisconsin man arrested for attempted homicide after stabbing roommate

TOMAH, Wis. (WFRV) – A 51-year-old man is in custody for attempted homicide after a physical disturbance Saturday night allegedly turned into a stabbing incident, authorities said.

According to a release from the Tomah Police Department, officers responded at 9:15 p.m. to the 800 block of Dogwood Lane for a reported physical disturbance between two men who live together.

Upon arrival, police found a victim inside the home with apparent injuries to his face and a suspected stab wound to his chest. The victim was said to be taken to and treated at the Tomah Health emergency Department and later released.

The suspect, who fled the scene before the arrival of police, was found sometime on Saturday in the Black River Falls by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and was arrested without any further incident.

51-year-old Edwin J. Ross was brought back to Tomah and is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail with the following charges being referred to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office:

  • 1st Degree Intentional Homicide – Attempted
  • Reckless Injury
  • Aggravated Battery
  • Battery
  • Disorderly Conduct

All of the listed charges are said to be related to domestic violence.

At this time, no other information is available at this time and an investigation into the incident by the Tomah Police Department is ongoing.
