(WFRV) – A Wisconsin man was sentenced to over nine years in prison on Thursday by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson after being convicted of meth trafficking.
According to Timothy M. O’Shea, the United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, 39-year-old Corey Hobbs of Eau Claire pled guilty to the charge on January 7, 2025, which came from three separate meth sales to a confidential informant in late 2023.

In November and December 2023, Hobbs sold methamphetamine to an informant three times, with the highest total on December 6, when he sold 261.09 grams to the confidential informant.
He was arrested on New Year’s Eve and officers found $10,610 in cash following a search of him and his car. Hobbs’s lengthy criminal history played a part in the sentencing, as Judge Peterson said it showed a pattern.
