Wisconsin woman arrested at a courthouse for OWI twice in one day

RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say they arrested one woman at a courthouse for OWI two times on the same day.

According to a release from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, courthouse security informed a deputy Tuesday morning at 10:35 a.m. that 60-year-old Julie A. Arbegust from Richland Center had shown up to the courtroom and was possibly under the influence.

Officials say the deputy was able to locate Arbegust’s vehicle in the courthouse parking lot before making contact with her in the courtroom.

Arbegust allegedly showed signs of drug impairment and was arrested for her 3rd Operating while Under the Influence offense. She was then booked into the Richland County Jail and later released to a responsible party.

Immediately after being released, officials say she was seen getting into the driver’s seat of her vehicle and leaving the courthouse parking lot.

The deputy once again found Arbegust and arrested her on the following charges:

  • Two counts of Operating while Under the Influence 3rd offense
  • Misdemeanor Bail Jumping
