WisDOT revokes licenses from 35 dealers throughout Wisconsin for ‘illegal activities’

(WFRV) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has revoked the dealer and wholesale dealer licenses of 35 dealers across Wisconsin this Spring for illegal activities.

According to WisDOT, the illegal activities included selling directly to consumers, failing to maintain a dealer bond, and other infractions.

After investigations by DMV’s Dealer and Agents Section, hearings in March, and a 30-day appeal period, most of the following 35 license revocations were finalized on April 5 or 6.

SafeRide program to deploy nearly 100 drivers during NFL Draft week in Green Bay

Wisconsin law requires wholesale dealers to carry a security bond to ensure if they commit illegal actions, such as rolling back an odometer or making an illegal sale, a consumer may file a claim against their bond to recoup money lost. Maintaining a bond is a standard business practice and an added security measure that is meant to protect consumers.
