OUTDOORS RADIO with Dan Small is an award-winning weekly “radio magazine” featuring hunting, fishing and outdoor lifestyles airing on 15 radio stations in Wisconsin, with broadcast reach into Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa. The show has aired since 2006, and each hour-long program includes segments like Hunting and Fishing Reports, Destination of the Week, Conservation Corner, Wild in the Kitchen and more. We provide regional coverage and information featuring experts and recognized professionals, including guides, outfitters, and wildlife biologists, Your Business and more.

OUTDOORS RADIO with Dan Small reaches an estimated 100,000 listeners weekly at a very reasonable cost. Of those, 95% are outdoor people who hunt and/or fish. A survey of our listeners indicates our audience is very outdoors oriented. A high percentage of our listeners participate regularly in fishing, hunting, shooting, camping, boating and other outdoor sports in Wisconsin and neighboring states.

Our show is podcast and streamed on several Internet addresses, including Lake-Link and iTunes. We have a five-star rating among outdoor shows on iTunes. On Lake-Link, we have more than 2,000 online listeners and 3,000 podcast downloads per month. The show has won more than 100 awards in regional and national competition.

Host/producer Dan Small is host/producer of Milwaukee PBS TV’s OUTDOOR WISCONSIN, which has aired throughout Wisconsin and other Midwestern states on PBS-affiliate stations since 1984. He is also contributing editor of the bi-weekly WISCONSIN OUTDOOR NEWS and a writer/photographer with credits in national and regional magazines. His awards include 1986 Conservation Communicator of the Year (WI Wildlife Federation), 1990 Gordon MacQuarrie Award (WI Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters), and 1999 Excellence in Craft Award (Assoc. of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers.) A former director of the Friends of Milwaukee’s Rivers, Ice Age Park and Trail Foundation, WI Outdoor Communicators Assoc., Assoc. of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers, Outdoor Writers Assoc. of America, he holds a PhD from Rice University.

Co-host/editor Jeff Kelm is an avid hunter and angler with 15 years of experience in broadcast and radio production. Jeff is a tournament ice fisherman who competes in the North American Ice Fishing Circuit. He is a member of the USA Ice Fishing Team that represented the USA at the Ice Fishing World Championship in Kazakhstan in 2012, Wausau, Wisconsin in 2013, and Ukraine in February 2016.
