ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – A group of local friends decided they’d had enough of seeing trash in their community parks, so they formed the “Litter Bugs,” a volunteer cleanup crew that’s turning frustration into action.
Yesterday, the Litter Bugs met at Fort Howard Park, where around 30 volunteers showed up, bags and gloves in hand, ready to make a difference. The group provided snacks, cleanup gear, and plenty of positive energy.
We were always in the park with our kids anyway, every time we were playing it was just so messy! There was trash everywhere even thought there was trash cans everywhere. So we just started this group and started picking up and were like wow we can do something with this.

Police across Fox Valley, Brown County gather at local Culver’s for annual fundraiser
Founded by Ashwaubenon locals, the Litter Bugs crew is now in its second year and continues to grow. One of the founders said the idea came naturally, just friends wanting to make their town a little brighter.
They’re always looking for more volunteers to join the cause.
