According to prosecutors, Hoerth provided his sister with fentanyl, leading to her fatal overdose. The medical examiner ruled her death was caused by fentanyl toxicity, with 30 nanograms per milliliter found in her system.
District Attorney Eric Toney said, “No parent should have to bury their child, but fentanyl continues to kill. We will continue to fight for justice for families in the hopes of deterring others from feeling its deadly impact.”
Hoerth also pleaded no contest to drug possession charges in a separate case. The case was investigated by the North Fond du Lac Police Department, with assistance from Fond du Lac and Grand Chute officers.
